Reading Journal Week 36 - Heart of a Poet

Dahveed the mighty.
Dahveed the strong.
Dahveed of Israel, a shepherd's son.

Dahveed is a born leader.
I was born a believer,
And not a hater.
Dahveed is there to save Israel and Judah
All the while getting more moolah.

Reading Journal Week 35 - Heart of a Poet

To tell someone
That you are less
Takes a lot of courage.
Now you know what Dahveed felt
When he made amends with Shaul.
Shaul must have been mortified and grateful,
That Dahveed was so close
Close enough to cut off the edge of the garment
Yet Dahveed didn't kill him.
That took courage from Dahveed,
And (I imagine) a lot of self control.

Reading Journal Week 34 - Heart of a Poet

Why do you want to attack Dahveed, Shaul?
Dahveed did nothing to you.
He treated you like a father.
Then why do you still go after him?
Your reasons are unclear.
Was it that servant that turned you to the dark side.
If not, then why?
Dahveed did nothing to you.
You think he's trying to steal your crown,
But he doesn't want it.
He'll be given the crown whether he likes it or not.
Even Jonathan agrees with Dahveed.
Why attack Dahveed?

Reading Journal Week 33 - Heart of a Poet

Dahveed. Oh, Dahveed.
How many woman have you married?
How many are coming,
Coming for you?
First was Sahara Michal,
Then Ahinoam,
And finally Gebirah Abigail of Carmel.
More are sure to come.
I am positive.
If only you knew,
How many your son would have.
Even you would feel appalled.

Father Christmas
It must have been a while,
For father Christmas was in denial.
Being put away for so long.
He had to have been strong,
To come back again,
And give gifts to men.

Reading Journal Week 31 - Heart of a Poet

Aslan and Jesus
Who is this mysterious Aslan?
This great Lion of old.
Why does he sound like our Jesus,
Who will give riches untold.
Aslan must be the Narnia equivalent
Of God's son, Jesus.

Reading Journal Week 30 - Heart of a Poet

Not Weird
The Wardrobe is open.
I'm gonna walk in.
It goes on an on.
Suddenly I'm in a forest.
This isn't weird at all.
Nope, always happens.
Not weird...
At all.

Reading Journal Week 29 - Heart of a Poet

The Castle
The castle looms o're our story,
In all its dark glory.
Ten scores of soldiers
Guarding us like boulders.
The night, or is it day, is gloomy.
How do we pass it when it scares me?
Where is the light?
All I see is dark.
Never ending
Dark

Reading Journal Week 26 - Heart of a Poet

We're trapped, we're trapped!
We're trapped, we're trapped!
This quest is our demise.
We're trapped, we're trapped!
We can only follow the creator schemes.
We're trapped, we're trapped!
There is no escape.
We're trapped, we're trapped!
Oh, hello.
Did you really think I was talking about
The ques-tors that came long after
We were trapped
For we are
The first set.

Reading Journal Week 25 - Heart of a Poet

Todd
Todd, how dare you.
You trapped our friends.
The wizards you have trapped in a land,
Of obvious mystery, peril, and possibly an end.
But you wouldn't lend a hand.
Oh, Todd you foolish evil brat,
Putting us in this quest.
Don't you know that we'll do our best,
To create an annoy-fest.

Reading Journal Week 24 - Heart of a Poet

Jimmy
Jimmy, O odd Jimmy.
I don't get you.
Jimmy
You seem to try to make friends,
Jimmy
But also seem to turn on them in the end.
Jimmy
You change your mind and save them.
Jimmy
But why if you could have your revenge?
Jimmy
Did you actually have a change of heart?
Jimmy
Or was it just a brain fart?

Carter and Sadie Kane riding on an Egyptian reed boat for their first time through the Duat. (They are the little tiny Cartoon characters sort of in the middle of the boat.)

Reading Journal Week 17 - Visualizing

This is a picture of when Percy Jackson and Carter Kane (in the form of an eagle) fought the Son of Sobek (The Croc) In the middle of a city. I photoshopped this picture because this was the main fight scene in the short story and it was pretty cool.
